Collaborate or Fail

The fastest path to success is specializing and collaborating with other specialists. This is not optional because there is simply too much to learn and stay on top of for any one person to be exceptional at it all and still be productive.

Those who build teams of collaborators (or acquire the solutions created by such teams) will have advantages going it alone can not even begin to approach. In Is Blogging Keeping You Poor (posted at CopyBlogger) author Jonathan Morrow wrote: Read more…

Where Or Where Is What Your Visitors Seek? The Importance Of Site Search.

I was prompted to write this post when I came across a beautifully designed blog called My Tropical Escape. Their theme is extremely attractive and most of the important functions are there - except search. The only factor more important than the ability to easily find and then quickly search any site is making it obvious what the site is offering. Here is why search is critical to EVERY site:

There Are Web Sites and Then There are Online Businesses That Make Money

Over at ProBlogger there is an exceptional discussion on whether to recommend SiteBuildIt as the best way to build a Web site. Since I’ve actually seen and tried out their system while assisting a friend in building a site there I wanted to share some insights and recommend you check out the great comments that other Site Build It users have shared.

One thing to understand is that Site Build It is NOT simply a way to create a Web site or Web pages. There are many of those that are far faster - and some easier - to use. Simply building Web pages is not really what Site Build It is all about. It goes far beyond that and anyone considering Site Build It as a platform for building an online business needs to understand that.

The difference between the Site Build It system and any other method of creating a Web site is the research it forces you to do to ensure that: Read more…

Are You REALLY Serious About Growing Your Business Or One of the Many Who THINK They Are?

Of all the companies I’ve worked with almost none of them are truly serious about growing their business. They all THINK they are. And I work diligently to show them what it would take to get serious. It rarely works though. It finally comes down to one thing:

Just WHO is driving the bus (their business) - and who SHOULD be doing it?

Many people hire consultants and are consistently disappointed because: Read more…

Are You Spelling Challenged or Grappling with Grammar?

Let’s take a humorous look at a serious subject. How you write - especially if you’re a business - is important because your readers will make assumptions based on your style. Some will even refuse to read what you write or decide against doing business with you over tiny typos or grammatical errors.

I wonder how many realize what their spell checker does not catch? The title of this post is from one of the many humorous spell checker poems written about spell check programs. Ode to a Spell Checker is another.  Whoever composed these went to great lengths to poke fun at spell checking programs, but they do make the holes in the use of such tools painfully obvious.
