I first recommended MyLocalLookup last month in Local Search Directory Taps the Power of Television. If you haven’t already claimed your free MyLocalLookup listing it only takes a few minutes and is essential to growing your business. Why this particular directory is going to be wildly popular is explained in this post.

What could be better than having major local television stations promote the Local Search directory where your business is listed and teach Internet users why MyLocalLookup is useful and how to get there? You can watch several of the commercials currently running. This one is my favorite:

In addition to these TV spots, both MyLocalLookup and their sister project BeyondtheTV are being prominently featured on the home pages of major networks.

Where I live the networks regularly send their viewers to their sites especially during the Newscasts, causing these sites to have major and rapidly growing traffic which will continue to increase as the networks use new methods to lure their viewers onto them.

Here is a screen capture (click on it to visit the actual site) for ABC Affiliate WearTV in Pensacola, Florida:

WearTV.com features mylocallookup search box

Notice the bright yellow mylocallookup search box in the left column. The screen capture above is only what is visible above the fold (without scrolling down). Also notice the box for BeyondtheTV in the center of the right column. I’ll explain why I point that out later in this post. The important thing is this:

Mylocallookup has agreed to let me roll out a special offer that any business can afford that will further increase exposure for businesses

Remember I mentioned the prominent BeyondtheTV section in the screen capture or a TV station’s home page above? That takes the television station’s viewers to a Local page specifically for their area.

The screen capture below shows the page for Pensacola, FL which features a Local Search box right at the top under the station logos plus a prominent box for Business Owners to use to get their locallookup listing. (Click on the image to go to that page.)

BeyondtheTV page for Pensacola, Florida

How popular do you suppose a page for your local area linked from the local television station’s home page will be? All of the Dallas TV stations now mention both Twitter and their Web sites regularly. Do yours? The evening news mentions them at the beginning and end of every broadcast and often during the news too. Do you suppose the station might mention the Local options too? I’m betting they do.

Rev05 is measuring click through rates from the TV sites to the BeyondtheTV site of 10-25% resulting in from several hundred to 10,000+ unique visits per month. You can watch as their coverage grows and find your local market on the map.

While only businesses advertising with the station are featured in BeyondtheTV, their promotion of the MyLocalLookup search box greatly increases how many use it – and use it regularly – driving new visitors to your listing there.

Adding your business is fast and easy because all they need are your name, address, phone number, email and URL. Do enter your information for the free mylocallookup listing option now so you know you will be listed when mylocallookup rolls out in your area.

Since this has never been done before no one can promise specific results and it will vary by business; however, there is ample evidence that the top listings in search engines consistently get the lion’s share of clicks with the top two listings receiving half of all visitors!

I can tell when search listings for my favorite gift store drop out of first into second because visits and sales drop. Yes, it makes that much difference! Now is the time to consider whether paying a monthly fee to be featured at the top of the MyLocalLookup listings will be worthwhile to you. Each of these moves your listing to the top and adds more features.

See the full descriptions of their three monthly payment options: Kite ($10), Glider ($25) and Jet ($100). Any one of these can ensure that your business shows up above the free listings on each search that applies to what you offer.

Jet listings appear above Glider listings which appear above Kite listings which appear above free listings. Eventually each of these types of listings will become more and more competitive. What if you could keep your listing on top indefinitely? Now you know why we have a special offer for our readers from MyLocalLookup:

50% off the JET package per month for as long as you choose to keep your account active

Only you can decide if you want to indefinitely lock in that top position for your business at half the regular rate. This is the only way to do that. If they are already in your market that won’t take much thought. If they aren’t now, know that they cover 30% of the U.S. today, will cover 50% by the end of 2009, and expect to reach the entire United States by year end 2010.

To take advantage of this special offer go to the MyLocalLookup JET signup and be sure to use Discount Code: growmap

This offer is good for thirty days from today. It expires Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at midnight C.S.T.

UPDATE: In some just breaking news for MyLocalLookup, BreakingNews will be featuring MyLocalLookup search boxes on their growing network of sites. Currently operating in 54 locations, you can see one at Breaking San Franciso News. Check the right sidebar to see if they have a site near you.

Since the best blog on Local SEO referred to us as the best blog on Local Search, we strive to live up to our reputation by staying on top of the very best Local Search Directory offerings. We are really excited to announce an opportunity to reach local markets with the potential for explosive growth through television exposure.

There is only one Local Search Directory we have seen offering business listings that are featured on the Web pages of television stations. MyLocalLookup search boxes are being featured above the fold on the home pages of major television networks including Fox, NBC, CBS, MY Network TV and CW. The stations are actively promoting mylocallookup with infomercials and thirty second commercial spots.

Short on time? You can go get your free listing right now. I hope you’ll keep reading though so you don’t miss out on a huge opportunity when they roll out television coverage in your area.

You can play this short video (51 seconds) to find out more:

My most observant readers have noticed the yellow mylocallookup search box I added last week. (Look just to the right.) There have been an amazing 678 searches already done – amazing because who heads to my blog to find a local business?

Imagine how many will use their search to find businesses when they visit the Web site of their local television station? Actually, you don’t have to imagine as I asked for some preliminary numbers:

64,725 searches from NBC affiliate WTAP in Parkersburg, West Virginia

42,799 initial searches this month alone from ABC affiliate wear-tv in Pensacola, Florida

66,072 searches from ABC affiliate KSFY in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

15,663 searches from ABC affiliate WSYX6 in Columbus, Ohio

21,436 searches from KABB FOX in San Antonio, Texas

Brand new on WPMY My Pittsburgh TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

What is significant about these numbers is that they are highly targeted to a particular location and those doing the searches are seriously interested in finding a business where they live and work. There are forty-four television stations already on board with five more deals in place and ten other sites featuring the search box including real estate and city sites like MeetOrlando.com.

MyLocalLookup is expanding and I predict it will spread like wildfire because:

they already have relationships in the television industry that will generate excellent traffic growth

their very visible search box will be featured on a growing number of sites

major network television stations are running commercials about them

users like to use it – they already have visitor loyalty (see Quantcast data below)
