Twelve Generous FollowFriday Folks

In the comments of my post yesterday, Shyam Kapur, the developer of my favorite Twitter search engine FeelTip Top wrote:

“If there were even 10 more people like you, I would then be even more sure about mankind’s future.”

I replied that I know of many more like me and shared the first twelve that came to mind in my reply.  I decided this would make the perfect post to share for Follow Friday, so for my readers who don’t read the comments I turned that reply into this post.

Here, in no particular order, are the twelve people I immediately thought of who are extremely generous with their time and talents:

  1. Louis Gray, whose futurist tech blog I linked to above. Louis excels at analyzing new solutions and trends and sharing his conclusions with his readers. I highly recommend him. Louis was very generous in linking to this blog when it was brand new and recommending my work to others.
  2. Adam Singer is simply brilliant. When I visited his Social Media Marketing blog to find the link I used in this post, I realized how much I have missed reading his posts. He, too, is generous in shining a light on new and upcoming bloggers.
  3. Barbara Swafford is extremely generous with her time and knowledge and a prominent member of the dofollow community. She created a blog registry section on her site to benefit other bloggers. I highly recommend hers as a great blogging community to join. The only reason she wasn’t already linked in this post is that she didn’t have a recent post about Twitter.
  4. Kristi Hines aka Kikolani needs no introduction to most. Besides her blog she is also know for her article writing. Anyone interested in Social Media should check out her best Social Media posts.
  5. Without the expertise and generous heart of Derek Semmler, our very own WordPress Ninja, this blog would not have come so far so fast. Our golf store and blog and personalized gifts blog with wedding store would not exist and we wouldn’t be adding two more about horses and healthy living without Derek’s expertise.
  6. Although he is extremely busy, Marty Weintraub has shared his genius for expert blogging and especially expert SEO through one of the very best Search Engine Marketing blogs. If you want cutting edge or very advanced SEO information don’t miss it.
  7. Although I only recently “met” JR I have already found several indispensible tools through her including a thriving community for submitting and finding guest posts and the Best Content Spinner ever. I am new to using article marketing so her experience really sped up the learning process.
  8. Collaborating with Murray Newlands has allowed me to achieve goals faster. Anyone seeking Blog Consulting Services or wanting to learn more about Word of Mouth Marketing should look him up.
  9. Connie Foggles has been a joy to work with as co-moderator of Murray’s Blog Club. She has a very active Product Review blog where she writes about products of interest to parents and families.
  10. I have learned so much from working with Bill Sutton who owns Good Millwork, a Florida Millwork company manufacturing and architectural moldings and exterior shutters. Both that blog and the one that hosts his molding search tool are dofollow and feature CommentLuv and KeywordLuv.
  11. I only recently started working with Eric Blackwell and know we will accomplish much together. He is involved in Louisville Real Estate, offers Search Engine Marketing Services and has a site about Autism and Asperger Syndrome. Eric is based in Kentuckiana (Indiana and Kentucky), is a Web Designer and has a new site and blog specifically for WordPress Web Design.
  12. I met Adam Riemer aka Rollerblader through Murray and recommended him to my favorite personalized gifts store owner. Adam is the most passionate, ethical merchant affiliate manager I have ever met. I am thrilled we are now working together on their behalf.

My greatest fear is that I have left out someone who truly deserves to have been mentioned. If I did leave someone out I hope they will forgive me. It is likely I will add them later when I remember!  Use this TweepML icon to easily follow any of those I have mentioned here that you wish:

Thank you John. I would be honored to be included in your post. The link in your comment is showing up as a most popular destination so perhaps I can return the favor and introduce my readers to your blog too.

For those who haven’t come across ExtremeJohn before he writes about “business tips, blogging tips, social media tips, social networking tips and a mix of just about everything else”.

When you have some time head over to his blog where you will meet tons of other members of the dofollow blogging movement. If I can ever get caught up I’ll meet you there.

John is also starting a new weekly guest post so if you’re interested in sharing your expertise in a dofollow PR4 blog check out his guest posting information.

Hi Michelle,

Now you know why I leave comments that look like posts. By the time I add all those links it does take forever. My philosophy on that is the easier I make it for readers the more likely they will actually go visit and follow the great people I recommend.

This one didn’t take nearly as long as the Twitter Retweets post or some of the others I’ve written. I don’t use blogs the way most do as serial posts. I see a blog as a way to organize research so I regularly update and add to my posts – especially the ones on my Best of GrowMap page.

I’m still wondering where to put that to make it easy to access. Fortunately it is now appearing in the Most Popular section at the top of the right sidebar. If it stays there it will be easier for new visitors to find it.

Welcome Mark,

Since we have KeywordLuv installed you can put your name and your keywords in the name field here and only the keywords will be linked. Just do this:

Mark @ Cabin Rentals and only Cabin Rentals will be linked.

I just emailed Derek to suggest that we need to indicate that Twitter IDs should be entered without the @ sign. Use your username only. I know this confuses anyone not used to how that particular plugin works.

Welcome to GrowMap Cindi,

Glad to have you here too and I just read the super news that you installed KeywordLuv. We use both CommentLuv and KeywordLuv in all our blogs and ours are all 100% dofollow. (Some blogs use those plugins but nofollow them.)

I have a comprehensive post about why I recommend KeywordLuv and will be focusing my time and promotional efforts primarily on blogs that use it if I can just make the time to finish it.

I just added you to my KeywordLuv Twitter list. Anyone who has KeywordLuv installed and is dofollow is invited to let me know and I will add them too. I also have a dofollow Twitter list and I am willing to add all dofollow blogs to it on request.

Twitter lists make it easy to focus your time on the blogs that make the most of your efforts. For me that is SBC members like you, KeywordLuv and dofollow blogs.

Welcome Thomas and thank you for the Retweets. You are welcome to use your comments here to benefit your site and those of your clients by selecting your own anchor text. (For anyone reading this reply that doesn’t know what that is please read Building Traffic.

Simply put Thomas @ Your Keywords and only the Your Keywords will be linked. Might I suggest Thomas @ ecommerce Web Development or Thomas @ ecommerce Web design or any other keyword phrases you prefer.

Note that many bloggers and even those who install KeywordLuv are very picky about how it is used or specifically prohibit using a client’s keywords instead of your own so always read their commenting policies. Some limit keywords to 20 characters and others to two words and Andy Beard is totally opposed to commenting for clients.

Some blogs are now using a plugin that thinks specific words are “spammy” so if you run into one of those it apparently doesn’t like the words Internet, Marketing and possibly Social.

I am a proponent of small businesses so I am very flexible. I know that many business owners don’t know how or do not have time and must rely on others to assist them and we want to support their efforts. If there were more successful small businesses the world would be a better place.

Welcome Danny,

It is good to see a company that understands the importance of having an online presence and backlinks with appropriate anchor text. There is much more here on growing businesses.

Skimming the categories on the bottom right or checking out the posts in the Most Popular section and particular the Best of GrowMap are great ways to find the best resources and how to use them.

I want to make a special mention of Local Search Directories because that is a fast, inexpensive (or even free) way to get high PR incoming links.
