With all the great  research, information and links I read every week I have been pondering a way to get more of the best ideas out to my readers faster.

I have decided to publish a different weekly column for each day of the week.

Most of these will be short, useful posts with tips or links to quality information.

Here is my new schedule with the names and topics for each of these columns and a hashtag for use on Twitter:

  • Social Media Marketing Monday (#SMM)
  • Affiliate Tips Tuesday (#AffTips)
  • Word of Mouth Marketing Wednesday (#WOMM)
  • How-to Thursday (#How-to)
  • Follow Friday Friends (#ff)
  • Support Small Businesses Saturday (#BizLuv)
  • Soul Searching Sunday

I hope my readers enjoy getting these short, regular posts. If you have particular requests please let me know in the comments or by using the information on the contact tab at the top of this blog.

This an excellent idea and strategy, and I think that most or all of your readers will go for it. I know I will. Your longer posts are always helpful and well written, and based on that, I have become a frequent visitor to your blog. Nevertheless, your new posting schedule gives me a better idea about what to expect for any given day, and I kind of like that.

Yes short posts are good posts sometimes. I love reading your blog and enjoy learning new information from it.

Wow, a post a day. When will you sleep? I look forward to reading your posts. Will give me a good reason to take a break at least once a day in my now hectic schedule. A short post, not sure what that is, but it’ll be nice to read some short ones versus some of the longer blogs that I follow.

I just had a peek at it through your link there, interesting, not free though not shabby prices to get started with… interesting. ;)

I may well try that someday soon. Thanks.

Hi Rob,

For anyone who is really serious about Social Media Marketing that is an excellent place to start. It is especially important for businesses as mistakes live just about forever in cyberspace so they don’t want to do anything that damages their brand or reputation.

Tamar has an entire section in her recent post Social Media Marketing Truths called Social Media is Often Permanent.

Everyone who is active online needs to understand that you can’t simply delete something and it goes away because it is already stored somewhere and can come back to haunt you. Sometimes you can’t even delete it at all.

While there IS great information available online, sometimes it is worth the time you save to have a reference book handy. I keep that book and a couple others right next to my monitor and I do refer to it regularly.

In fact, many of my new columns will include tips from those specific books. I will be mentioning the others in upcoming posts. There are more links to Tamar and her book in the next post which I’ll feature in CommentLuv in this reply.

I agree and more frequent content will also help both short and long term. :)

Always a good move no doubt.

Didn’t know feedblitz could do that, never used it myself, so… not surprised I didn’t know. ;)

My how-to post on Thursday is definitely going to be on FeedBlitz. What Phil Hollows has done with it is exceptional and I am intent on getting it installed in all my blogs and also to write regularly on how to use it as an alternative to FeedBurner and for email marketing, listing building, autoresponder messages and much more.

Sounds like a good idea, would be a good habit to get into, having certain styles of post certain days.

Something in it for everyone this way, certainly people will have different taste, but you will also get some great ideas on reader feedback too, knowing what’s more popular is always a bonus, hard to do when you post similar stuff every day.

I can see good logic behind it ;)

Looking forward to reading more.

Thank you for taking time to comment Rob. My plan is to learn to make SHORT quick posts more often instead of my usual pillar posts once a week or so. Having a catchy daily column is a good way to make that happen.

My thought is that those who have specific interests will know what day(s) to look for new information the same way we might frequent a favorite restaurant for a special dish they discount on a specific day of the week.

I know that FeedBlitz can be set up so that people can subscribe to just their areas of interest. I don’t know yet how to make that happen but when I do that will benefit those who want to receive just information on specific subjects and not everything I write.

I’ve already failed the short, quick post part for today as the first Social Media Marketing Monday column is neither because I already had a saved post I wanted to use with some excellent links in it.

Short is something I will have to work at because I know it will benefit my readers to get less information at a time more quickly.
